Job summary

Navy Exchange Service Command is seeking a part-time Barber at the North Island Main Store to provide barbering services to military and civilian personnel. The role includes shampooing, cutting, shaping, shaving and beard care, while ensuring high standards of sanitation and customer service.

You will work in a federal employee environment with scheduled hours (20–34.5 per week) and eligibility for benefits such as paid annual and sick leave.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of barber culture or cosmetology.
• Possession of a valid State License in Barbering or cosmetology.
• If licensed in a different state, must obtain valid State License in Barbering or Cosmetology in the state of the position within six months from hire date.

Responsibilities

• Perform barbering services including shampooing, cutting, shaping, shaving, and beard/mustache care for military and civilian personnel.
• Maintain sanitation of equipment and station; prepare towels and supplies to minimize downtime.
• Operate cash register, process payments, and maintain daily cash reports and appointment book.
• Assist with inventory and daily shop operations as needed.
• Provide courteous, high-quality customer service and ensure client satisfaction.
