Job summary

ERC Pathlight is seeking a Milieu Therapist to facilitate curriculum-based groups and provide meal monitoring within IP/Res and PHP programs. The role may include on-call shifts based on needs and requires compassionate, patient-focused care.

You will document sessions, support de-escalation, and contribute to a safe, therapeutic milieu under supervision by clinical leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mental health or related field required.
• Master’s degree in mental health or related field required.
• Intern or associate license from state licensing board required.
• Minimum 18 months of experience in behavioral health (waived with relevant master’s degree).

Responsibilities

• Facilitate curriculum-based groups.
• Provide meal monitoring and meal support.
• Document groups, meals, and patient check-ins and observations.
• Support milieu including de-escalation and crisis management.
• Lead more advanced groups in evenings and weekends as needed.
• Cover Primary Therapists with supervision from Clinical Manager or Director.

Schedule: PRN/ AS Needed; 10‑hour shifts Monday - Friday

What You’ll Be Doing

The Milieu Therapist facilitates groups based on core curriculum, provides meal monitoring and meal support., and offers milieu support, de‑escalation and behavior coaching to patients in IP/Res and PHP programs. The Milieu Therapist may be required to work on‑call shifts based on business needs, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local labor laws.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Facilitates curriculum‑based groups.
• Provides meal monitoring and support.
• Documentation of groups, meals and patient check‑ins and observations
• Provides support to Milieu including the following:
• De‑escalation and crisis management
• Bathroom monitoring
• Monitoring outside breaks
• Conducts self‑harm and suicide assessment
• Support morning routine in IP/Res programs
• Collect weights, vitals and urine in some settings
• Implements individual behavior management plans for some patients and serves as clinical lead for the program in standalone programs in evenings and weekends. Will lead more advanced groups.
• Coverage for Primary Therapists with support from Clinical Manager or Clinical Director

Must Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in mental health or related degree program (required)
• Master’s degree in mental health or related degree program (required)
• Intern or associate license from appropriate state licensing board (required)
• Minimum 18 months of experience in a behavioral health or related field (requirement waived with relevant master's degree)

Bonus Qualities

• 1+ year facilitating groups (preferred)
