Status: Full-Time, Nonexempt
Reports To: Program Director
Starting Compensation Pay: $55,000/annually
The Milieu Supervisor provides leadership and oversight within the Caritas Teen Pregnancy Treatment Center milieu to ensure trauma-informed mental health services are delivered effectively and consistently. This role supervises direct care staff, promotes resident safety, supports treatment goals, and collaborates with clinical and service coordination teams to help youth successfully transition to less restrictive environments.

Degree/Field Required: High School Diploma or GED
Degree/Field Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services-related field.
Experience Required: High School Diploma/associate degree candidates with less than 5 years of supervisory experience require a minimum of 3 years’ experience working with youth with complex mental health needs and/or at-risk youth. bachelor’s/master's degree candidates with less than 5 years of supervisory experience require a minimum of 5 years’ experience working with youth with complex mental health needs and/or at-risk youth.
Supervisory experience within a residential treatment or behavioral health setting.
Ability to meet the requirements of a Rehabilitative Services Associate (RSA) as defined by the State of Illinois is required. Must Meet requirements of Child Care Supervisors as defined by the State of Illinois.
Ability to meet the requirements of a Mental Health Professional (MHP) as defined by the State of Illinois is preferred. TCI trainer.
Manager-Specific: Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate staff while effectively addressing concerns from clients, families, leadership, regulatory agencies, and community stakeholders.
Basic: Strong communication, active listening, critical thinking, reading comprehension, writing, learning agility, and performance monitoring skills. Ability to effectively understand, interpret, and communicate information while supporting ongoing staff and youth development.
Social: Ability to build relationships, provide instruction and coaching, promote teamwork, resolve conflict, influence positive behavior change, and maintain a strong service-oriented approach when working with youth, families, and colleagues.
Problem Solving/Decision-Making: Ability to make sound decisions under pressure, assess risks, prioritize competing demands, solve complex problems, meet deadlines, and exercise appropriate judgment in situations impacting youth safety, staff performance, agency reputation, and program operations.
Proficient Computer Skills In: Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, Microsoft Teams, and office technology systems.
Expert Computer Skills In: N/A
Resource Management: Ability to effectively manage personnel resources, staffing assignments, scheduling, employee development, accountability measures, and time management for self and others.
Technical: Knowledge of residential treatment operations, crisis intervention practices, documentation standards, Medicaid and licensing compliance requirements, employee supervision, and trauma-informed service delivery.
Trauma-Informed: Must display a willingness to adopt trauma-informed interventions, principles, and practices as well as a commitment to ongoing development of their capacity for application of trauma-informed care. Realizes the prevalence of trauma among persons served by Caritas and the general population. Recognizes how trauma affects everyone involved—including clients, their families, staff, and community—and impacts behaviors. Responds to trauma by actively implementing the guiding principles of trauma-informed care into daily practice. Resists re-traumatization of persons served and staff by creating safe, welcoming, and supportive environments.
