Job summary

Foundations for Living, a Universal Health Services residential treatment center in Mansfield, Ohio, seeks a compassionate Milieu Coordinator to support at-risk youth aged 10-17 receiving mental health, substance use, and trauma services.

The Milieu Coordinator maintains a therapeutic environment, supports direct care staff, and ensures safety and policy compliance as part of a full-time, in-person role that includes night shifts Tuesday–Saturday.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, education, criminal justice or related mental health field is required.
• High School diploma with four years’ experience may be substituted where allowed.
• Valid state driver’s license is required.
• CPR and First Aid certifications are required; Handle With Care training is provided during orientation.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and policy manuals.
• May be required to physically restrain residents as a last resort for safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist Unit Managers in training employees and managing shift schedules.
• Proactively support Specialists during acuity, crisis, or unit issues.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures through supervision of unit activity.
• Protect rights of clients and families in line with facility goals.

Foundations for living is a residential treatment center in Mansfield, Ohio, for youths aged 10-17. We provide trauma-informed care that supports emotional healing, personal growth, and academic success in a structured and compassionate environment. Our 84-bed facility is licensed to provide treatment for mental health and substance use disorders, including dependence. Through individualized support and evidence-based programming, we are committed to helping youth build stability, resilience, and hope for the future. Website: https://foundationsforliving.net Our residential treatment facility is seeking a compassionate and dedicated milieu Coordinator to support at-risk youth receiving services for mental health, substance use, and trauma. The Milieu Coordinator plays a vital role in maintaining the safety and security of the facility by monitoring unit activity, ensuring adherence to the daily programming schedule, supporting direct care staff, and following all facility policies and procedures. This position is essential in helping create and maintain a therapeutic environment aligned with the facility’s mission: to provide a safe space where residents feel empowered to heal from past experiences and build a foundation of hope for the future.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist and supports Unit Managers in training employees and managing shift schedules.
• Proactively supports Specialists on the units in situations of acuity, crisis or other unit issues.
• Assures compliance with company policies and procedures through diligent supervision and examination of all unit activity/workflow.
• Ensures that the rights of the clients and their families are respected and protected in accordance with facility goals.

Job Type: Full-Time In Person

Shift: 9:45p-6:15 am - Tuesday-Saturday

• Valid State Driver’s License
• Certified in CPR, First Aid and Handle With Care (offered during Orientation).
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and policy/procedure manuals.
• The Milieu Coordinator may be required to physically restrain clients, using authorized hold procedures as a last resort for protection of residents and staff.
