Job summary

Virnig Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking a Welder to set up, operate, and maintain MIG welding equipment to build products meeting quality standards. Willingness to cross-train as a backup in other production areas is expected, with strong communication and organizational skills throughout the shift.

The role requires 1+ year welding experience or trade training, ability to read blueprints, and familiarity with spark-safe, PPE-aware environment. 5:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; basic math skills required.
  • Minimum 1-year experience in welding and/or equivalent field or completion of trade school course.
  • Forklift and hoist experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate welder to weld various component parts and sub-weldments.
  • Weld components in flat, vertical or overhead positions, standing for long periods.
  • Monitor fit up and welding processes to avoid overheating, warping, distortion, or expansion.
  • Pull prints and verify attachments/weldments are correct.
  • Hit daily production numbers set by the schedule.
  • Detect faulty operation of equipment and notify supervisors when necessary.
  • Perform daily and weekly equipment maintenance to ensure good condition.
  • Follow safety policies and wear PPE.
  • Maintain a clean and organized area/work station.
  • Work overtime as needed.
