Job summary

Wastequip in Rosemount, MN is seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our production team. You will assemble components and structures per prints, layouts and jigs, focusing on quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities include positioning parts in fixtures, tack welding, MIG welding in various orientations, inspecting bead size, and finishing with grinding as needed. Prioritize safety and adherence to schedules.

Qualifications

• MIG welding experience is required.
• Ability to read simple instructions and short communication.
• Knowledge of basic math and tape measure reading preferred.
• Experience in a fast-paced production environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Position parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamps parts together along layout marks.
• Lays out, positions, and tack welds work pieces.
• MIG welds along vertical, horizontal, and overhead weld lines.
• Connects regulator valves to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders for cutting torch.
• Turns regulator valves to activate flow of gases, lights torch and adjusts gas mixture and pressure to obtain desired flame.
• Holds & guides torch at proper angle to cut metal.
• Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
• Scarfs or grooves welds and parts.
• Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or splatter.
• Completes tasks while adhering to production schedules.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
