Job summary

Award Staffing in Winsted, MN is seeking a MIG Welder/Fabricator for 1st shift. The role is a temp-to-hire position with pay in the $20.00-$25.00/hr range. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, in a hands-on shop environment.

Requires basic MIG welding knowledge, ability to set up and operate welding equipment, and willingness to learn additional fabrication tasks. Lifting up to 75 lbs and teamwork are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of MIG welding and welding fundamentals.
• Ability to set up and operate welding equipment.
• Metal fabrication experience preferred.
• Experience operating fabrication equipment such as press brakes, shears, rollers, or similar machinery is a plus.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills.
• Comfortable performing a variety of tasks in the shop, not just welding.
• Ability to work independently while being a reliable team member.
• Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on thick and thin-gauge materials.
• Cut, grind, hammer, and prepare materials for fabrication and assembly.
• Set up welding jigs and fixtures to ensure quality and consistency.
• Assist with general metal fabrication and shop projects as needed.
• Operate and help set up welding equipment safely and efficiently.
• Work with fabrication equipment such as press brakes, shears, rollers, and other shop machinery.
• Lift and move materials weighing up to 75 pounds, with overhead cranes available for heavier materials.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Support teammates and take on additional shop responsibilities as business needs change.
