Aerotek is seeking a MIG Welder – Stainless Steel Fabrication to join a heated production facility and fabricate stainless pulleys, hubs, and related components to engineering specs. You will perform MIG and TIG welding, read blueprints and weld symbols, and ensure tight tolerances and high-quality finishes.

Work is performed in a dedicated welding cell with daytime hours, safety-driven culture, and opportunities for skill growth.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years MIG welding experience on stainless steel components.
  • Ability to TIG weld stainless steel parts when required.
  • Able to read blueprints and weld symbols.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Comfort in non climate-controlled heated production facility.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding on stainless steel pulleys, hubs, and related components.
  • Perform TIG welding on stainless steel parts as needed to support production requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions to determine weld locations, sizes, and techniques.
  • Set up welding equipment, including wire selection, shielding gas, and machine parameters.
  • Prepare materials by cleaning, fitting, and aligning parts prior to welding.
  • Use proper welding techniques and control heat input to minimize distortion.
  • Inspect finished welds visually and dimensionally for quality, strength, and appearance; adjust as necessary.
  • Perform minor grinding, deburring, and finishing operations on welded parts.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear PPE.
  • Participate in safety training and adhere to safety practices.
  • Work independently in a welding cell and seek supervision when needed.
  • Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

Job Title: MIG Welder – Stainless Steel Fabrication

Job Description

This role focuses on fabricating and welding stainless‑steel pulleys and related components in accordance with precise engineering specifications and established quality standards. You will use MIG and TIG welding processes, interpret blueprints, and work independently at a welding cell to produce high‑quality parts for mechanical and industrial applications, with a strong emphasis on safety and dimensional accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding on stainless steel pulleys, hubs, and related components in accordance with engineering drawings and quality standards.
  • Perform TIG welding on stainless steel parts as needed to support production requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions to determine correct weld locations, sizes, and techniques.
  • Set up welding equipment, including selecting and installing wire, setting shielding gas, and adjusting machine parameters for optimal weld quality.
  • Prepare materials by cleaning, fitting, and aligning parts prior to welding to ensure proper joint fit‑up and accuracy.
  • Use proper welding techniques and control heat input to minimize warping, distortion, and maintain dimensional accuracy of stainless steel components.
  • Inspect finished welds visually and dimensionally for quality, strength, and appearance, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Perform minor grinding, deburring, and finishing operations on welded parts to meet final specifications.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including consistent use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of materials and equipment.
  • Participate in safety training meetings and adhere to established safety practices to maintain a strong safety record.
  • Work independently in an assigned welding cell while seeking direction or assistance from supervision when needed.
  • Lift and move materials and components weighing up to 50 pounds as part of daily work activities.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of MIG welding experience on stainless steel components.
  • Ability to perform TIG welding on stainless steel parts (experience preferred and used as needed).
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and weld symbols.
  • Demonstrated experience with stainless steel fabrication and fitting.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment (2 years of manufacturing experience preferred).
  • Ability to prepare, fit, and align parts accurately prior to welding.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to control heat input and minimize distortion.
  • Ability to inspect welds for quality, strength, and appearance and make necessary corrections.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs safely during routine tasks.
  • Comfort working in a non‑climate‑controlled, heated production environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • No formal welding certifications required for this role.
  • Experience in food manufacturing environments is a plus, particularly working with equipment or components used in food production.
  • Fitting and fabrication experience beyond basic welding is highly desirable.
  • At least 2 years of general manufacturing experience is considered a strong plus.
  • TIG welding experience is nice to have and will be utilized as needed.
  • Preference for candidates with hands‑on industry experience rather than those with only recent schooling.
  • No high school diploma is required for consideration.
