Job summary

Modineer Company is seeking a Direct Labor welder for our Elkhart, IN production team. The role requires following detailed blueprints and specifications, welding with MIG and TIG processes, and ensuring weld quality and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

The position requires 4–5 years of MIG/TIG welding experience, strong math and measurement skills, and the ability to read engineering prints. Safety and quality policies must be followed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • AWS Weld Certification after 60 days of employment preferred/required.
  • 4-5 years MIG and TIG welding experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow written instructions with daily route sheets and blueprints to join parts.
  • Measure and align workpieces using calipers, protractors, and tape measures.
  • Weld with MIG and TIG processes on various materials and thicknesses.
  • Inspect welds for accuracy and consistency.
  • Read blueprints and select appropriate welding equipment and parameters.

Full Time Direct Labor Elkhart, IN, US

Salary Range: $22.00 To $26.00 Hourly

Job Responsibilities:
  • This position will follow written instructions with daily route sheets, blueprints of components to be joined-together, and possibly at multiple angles.
  • Measure, and align workpieces using straightedges, clamps, tape measures, protractors, and calipers.
  • Working knowledge of XYZ and LRA coordinates is a plus.
  • Perform GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) welding on a variety of materials, and thicknesses, sizes, and orientations.
  • Inspect welds for accuracy, and consistency.
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements provided.
  • Follow established safety, and quality policies, procedures, and practices.
Requirements/Skills:
  • Prefer 4-5 years of experience working with MIG, and TIG welding.
  • Position requires good mathematical abilities, strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Position requires the ability to operate precision measuring devices such as tape Measures, Calipers, Protractors, Micrometers, and other various measuring tools.
  • Must have experience with Grinders, Buffers, and other hand-held tools.
  • Experience with selecting the correct Torch tips, filler rods, and flux according to material thickness.
  • Must be able to read blueprints and use engineering print layouts.
  • Must have experience using Weld fixtures, and/or Jigs for aligning workpieces prior to welding.' n
  • Must be capable of safe operation of gas, and non-gas welding equipment in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Experience reading and understanding weld symbols on blueprints.
  • Some safety equipment must be worn when working on or around equipment in the shop. Bending, lifting, and pushing up to 40 lbs. is required.
Education:
  • High school diploma, or GED
  • Ability to attain an AWS Weld Certificate after 60 days of employment.

4.0 Acknowledgement:

This position works in a production environment. Position will report directly to Production supervisor and will have daily interaction with other team members.
