Job summary

A consulting firm is seeking a hands-on DevOps Engineer to support WebLogic deployments in cloud infrastructures. The role requires extensive experience with middleware, scripting skills, and a focus on automation. This is a hybrid position located in Oakland, CA, with a contract of at least 12 months. Candidates must have 8+ years in DevOps and familiarity with containerization and automation tools.

Qualifications

• 8+ years hands-on DevOps experience with middleware platforms.
• Experience with WebLogic 12c+ (preferred) and/or JBoss EAP in production environments.
• Focus on automation, IaC, and modernization rather than just maintaining legacy WebLogic environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and support customer-facing applications with challenging use cases.
• Apply middleware infrastructure automation code with focus on scalability.
• Collaborate with teams to define and scope middleware solutions.

Skills

DevOps experience with middleware platforms

Scripting skills (Shell required; Python/Perl advantageous)

Experience with WebLogic 12c+ or JBoss EAP

Familiarity with IaC (Terraform)

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
