Overview
- Present and maintain a high level of professionalism as an educational leader and assistant coach while demonstrating an exemplary level of integrity within the program.
- Have 7th-12th wrestling coaching experience.
- Be proficient in methods of instruction involving wrestling skills.
- Be an educator within the Pleasant Hill School District – preferred.
- Meet MSHSAA Assistant Coaching Requirements according to the guidelines presented in the MSHSAA handbook (sec 3.1).
- Be certified as a substitute teacher and must have completed 60 credit hours from an accredited institution.
- The successful candidate will fulfill the duties as follows:
Duties
- Coaching 7th-12th boys and girls wrestling as assigned by the program head coach - through third week in January.
- Assist the program head coaches in program events and practices (items include scoring meets, running bullpens, track wrestling programs, and event set-up).
- Assist the program head coaches in planning, organizing, and operating efficient practices.
- Assist with the preparation of MS, JV, and varsity boys and girls events (home & away).
- Attend and assist off-season workouts, camps, and activities as deemed necessary by the head coach.
- Effectively communicate with students/athletes regarding their progress, performance, and critical needs to improve.
- Effectively communicate with parents.
- Assisting with high school boys and girls programs is expected beyond the specific middle school competitive season.
