Job summary

RE-1 Valley School District in Sterling, Colorado is seeking a Girls Volleyball Coach for the 2026-2027 season. You will coach middle school student athletes, develop game strategies, and motivate players to enjoy volleyball while maintaining academic eligibility.

The role requires organizing practices, coordinating with the Athletic Director, and promoting the sport to boosters and community groups; a 21+ age requirement and a high school diploma are required, with three reference letters

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Willing and able to drive to away games, camps, and scrimmages.
• Knowledgeable in the techniques and strategies for the sport/activity.
• Ability to read, interpret safety rules and manuals.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff and community.
• Submit online application with 3 letters of reference.

Responsibilities

• Holds organizational meetings and invites potential athletes.
• Assesses players' skills and assigns team positions.
• Develops regular practice schedules for individual and team development.
• Works with Athletic Director to schedule facilities for practices and competitions.
• Coaches players on rules, equipment, and techniques of volleyball.
• Observes players to identify needs for improvement.
• Determines game strategy based on team capabilities.
• Maintains decorum and supervises athletes at all times.
• Monitors academic performance to ensure eligibility.
• Follows procedures for injuries and safety.
• Communicates with parents/guardians about athletic performance.
• Engages with booster clubs and community groups to promote the sport.
• Maintains equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
• Develops award policies with Athletic Director and reports winners.
• Participates in fundraising and school events.
