Job summary

Birch Agency seeks a qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired to provide direct and consultative vision services to middle school students in Douglasville, GA. The role includes developing IEPs, FVAs/LMAs as needed, and adapting materials to Braille and other accessible formats.

You will collaborate with general and special education staff, support assistive technology use, and participate in IEP/team meetings while ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Education of the Visually Impaired, Special Education, or a related field.
• Valid Georgia TVI certification/eligibility or credential.
• Experience with visually impaired students; middle school setting a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and consultative vision services to middle school students.
• Develop and monitor IEPs and vision-related objectives.
• Adapt materials into accessible formats (Braille, large print, tactile, digital).
• Collaborate with general and special education teams; engage families and providers.
