Job summary

Prep Academy Tutors is seeking qualified middle school teachers and tutors to provide personalized, one-on-one academic support for students in grades 6–8 in the Northern Los Angeles area.

Our educators strengthen core skills, build confidence, and prepare students for high school through individualized instruction. This role welcomes certified teachers, experienced educators, and qualified tutors who want to make a meaningful impact outside the traditional classroom.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; teaching credential or advanced degree preferred.
• Valid California teaching credential or equivalent is highly preferred.
• Experience teaching or tutoring middle school students.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one tutoring for middle school students (Grades 6–8)
• Support students in core subjects (Math, ELA, Science, Social Studies)
• Assist with homework, study skills, executive functioning, organization, and test preparation
• Develop individualized learning plans based on each student's needs and goals
• Monitor student progress and provide updates to families
• Foster a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment
• Travel to students’ homes throughout the Northern Los Angeles area

Prep Academy Tutors of Northern Los Angeles is seeking qualified, dedicated, and compassionate Middle School Teachers and Tutors to provide personalized, one-on-one academic support to students in Grades 6–8 throughout the Northern Los Angeles area.

Our educators work closely with students to strengthen core academic skills, build confidence, and prepare them for success in high school. We are looking for professionals who are passionate about helping middle school students thrive through individualized instruction tailored to each student's unique learning needs and academic goals.

Minimum Requirements

Qualified applicants must hold a bachelor's degree and meet at least one of the following criteria:

• Hold a valid California teaching credential or equivalent
• Be a current student teacher pursuing a teaching credential
• Have two or more years of experience teaching middle school students in a public, private, or charter school
• Have significant experience providing one-on-one or small-group tutoring for middle school students
• Be a graduate student in education or a related field with teaching or instructional experience
