Job summary

Manteno Middle School is seeking two Assistant Track and Field Coach openings. The role supports the Head Coach in growing a successful program emphasizing growth, sportsmanship, academics, and competitive excellence.

Responsibilities include recruiting, supervising student-athletes, planning practices, ensuring safety, and maintaining program compliance with district and athletic association rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
• Successful completion of district/state/athletic association coaching requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and encouraging student participation in the athletic program.
• Assist with instruction, supervision, and development of student-athletes.
• Evaluate athlete skills and assist with team assignments and player development.
• Plan and conduct practices to promote improvement.
• Instruct athletes on rules, techniques, strategies, and safety requirements.
