Job summary

Fremont Middle School is seeking a Track Coach for the Spring 2027 athletic season at Fremont MS. The position offers a $3,488 stipend for the season with three open coaching spots for Track.

The coach reports to the athletic director and is expected to guide athletes in fundamental track skills and season strategizing. Responsibilities include modeling professional conduct and encouraging character development, self-discipline, and school pride among student athletes.

Qualifications

• Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Previous successful coaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and willingness to study new theories and procedures.
• Serve as a role model for student athletes through instruction and actions.

Responsibilities

• Instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.
• Promote socially acceptable character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride of accomplishment in student athletes.
• Upgrade knowledge and skills through coaching clinics, observations and consultation.

Distinguishing Characteristics

• Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Previous successful coaching experience preferred.
• The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sportand, at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent tothe field.
• Serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes throughtheir instructions and actions.

Reports To

The athletic director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluations.

Job Goal

To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the sametime, the coach must instruct and demonstrate behaviors that lead to sociallyacceptable character development, self discipline, self confidence, and pride ofaccomplishment in the student athletes. To upgrade his/her knowledge and skillsthrough coaching clinics, observations, consultation, etc.

Additional Requirements

All out of District candidates selected for employment must satisfactorily complete screening tests for illegal drug use, including marijuana, prior to the District presenting a final offer of employment. The position also requires ODE Fingerprint Clearance.
