AMiddle School Teacher’s job duties include: cooperating, as requested in the development ofannual objectives for the school, planning an instructional program which incorporates theseobjectives, incorporating learner objectives compatible with the subject, grade level, establishedcurriculum, and student needs, assessing their instructional program to determine itseffectiveness, maintaining an effective program by establishing and maintaining an adequateknowledge of subject areas and child growth and development, ensuring that the instruction,materials and procedures are appropriate for the subject being taught and for the needs of thestudents, encouraging students, parents and others to become actively involved in dailyinstructional activities, assessing individual student abilities to devise techniques that willaccommodate student differences in rates of learning, styles of learning, and ability levels,monitoring individual student achievement on a continuous basis, employing a variety of teaching methods to meet student needs, and using professional classroom managementtechniques to maintain a suitable instructional environment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• A Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent degree accepted) in Education or a closely related field and must possess a valid North Carolina Professional Educator’s license.
