Job summary

Flat Rock Community Schools is seeking a Middle School Swim Coach to lead and develop student-athletes in swimming. The role emphasizes coaching, safety, and adherence to district policies.

The ideal candidate will have swim participation experience, CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain, and knowledge of MHSAA rules, with a focus on academic and athletic development. Commitment to the program and professional representation is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be a high school graduate; college graduate preferred.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required or willingness to obtain.
• Previous swim participation required; coaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of MHSAA rules and district policies.
• Ability to work effectively with high school student-athletes, parents, and staff.
• Coaching strategies aligned with the District's Student-Focused Coaching and Leadership Philosophies.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions for the team you are assigned to, in accordance with the FRCS Athletic Coaching Handbook and District Policies.
• Maintain a consistent presence and commitment to the program, prioritizing responsibilities to the program throughout the season.
• Communicate and enforce all school, league, and MHSAA rules and regulations.
• Promote academic achievement, sportsmanship, and personal development among team members.
• Work collaboratively with the athletic department and coaching staff to ensure a safe and well-organized program.
• Represent Flat Rock Community Schools in a professional and respectful manner at all practices, meets, and school-related events.
• Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director
