Job summary

Arlington Heights School District 25 has a full-time Special Education Teaching Assistant opening to work 1:1 with a student at South Middle School for the 2026-27 school year. Hours are Monday–Friday, 7:35 am–2:50 pm, with pay of $21.40 per hour.

Teaching Assistants support students with special needs and help implement IEPs throughout the school day in general education classes, small groups, transitions, lunch, recess, and activities of daily living under guidance from the special education

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Illinois Paraprofessional License, Sub license, or PEL.
• Demonstrated genuine interest in supporting students.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a student at South Middle School.
• Help implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) during the day in general education classes, small group instruction, hallway transitions, lunch and daily living activities.
• Assist with transitions, lunch, recess and activities of daily living as needed.

Arlington Heights School District 25 has an opening for a full-time (1.0FTE) Special Education Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a student at South Middle School for the 2026-27 school year.

The hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 7:35 am - 2:50pm.

Pay: $21.40 / hour

Teaching Assistants provide support to our students with special education needs. Special Education Teachers will provide guidance to ensure that you are implementing the Individualized Education Plans for students throughout their school day in general education classes, small group instruction, hallway transitions, lunch, recess and activities of daily living.
