Job summary

Oakland Schools in Michigan seeks a qualified science teacher to implement the science curriculum, promote interactive learning, and use creative instructional strategies to boost student achievement.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's Degree, a Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Science DX/DI endorsement, differentiate instruction, assess students, and collaborate with staff, students, and parents under the Building Principal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university/college.
• Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Science DX and/or DI Endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Implement Science Curriculum, following the State standards.
• Design and utilize creative and engaging lesson plans.
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of individual students.
• Assess students using both formative and summative assessments.
• Include practical application of content knowledge in lesson plans.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of each learner.
• Develop and implement strategies of interventions for individual students.
• Establish and consistently implement positive classroom management strategies while promoting a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment for each learner.
• Utilize progress monitoring.
• Establish and maintain an effective and cooperative working relationship with all staff, students, and parents.
• This position reports to the Building Principal.
