Job Title: Middle School Science Teacher Location: Holy Trinity Catholic Schools – Fort Madison, Iowa Reports To: Building Principal Employment Type: Full-Time, 10-Month Contract

Position Summary

Holy Trinity Catholic Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Science Teacher to join our faith-filled educational community. The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity, foster critical thinking, and engage students in hands‑on learning while integrating Catholic values into daily instruction. This teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering science curriculum to middle school students in grades 6–8.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement engaging, standards‑based science lessons aligned with Iowa Core and diocesan curriculum guidelines
  • Create a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment that promotes student learning and spiritual growth
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including hands‑on experiments, technology integration, and collaborative learning
  • Assess and monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments
  • Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and student performance
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and staff to support school initiatives
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school activities
  • Integrate Catholic teachings and values across the curriculum
  • Supervise students in and outside the classroom as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field (required)
  • Valid Iowa teaching license with appropriate endorsement (preferred)
  • Experience teaching middle school students (preferred)
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to incorporate technology effectively into instruction
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education
  • Willingness to be an active member of the school community
