Qualifications

• A valid/registered Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with proper endorsement(s).
• Recent teaching experience in the subject matter (except for new graduates).
• Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum, instructional methods and current teaching techniques.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and time management skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, families, team members, and others.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare lessons with knowledge of content and pedagogy.
• Apply knowledge of students' backgrounds to plan for groups.
• Set instructional outcomes aligned to standards and assess progress.
• Utilize school resources to enhance teaching and learning.

• Manage classroom procedures to minimize downtime and ensure safety.

• Engage students with rigorous activities and culturally responsive materials.
• Use assessments with clear criteria and provide timely feedback.
• Be flexible and adjust lessons based on student questions and needs.
• Reflect on teaching practices and seek professional growth.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate with families.
• Collaborate with colleagues in professional learning communities.
• Demonstrate integrity and comply with district regulations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
