Qualifications

• Knowledge of current physical education instructional methods and differentiated instruction.
• Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and action plans.
• Knowledge of applicable education laws and health education.
• Knowledge of physiology, health, biology, anatomy, hygiene and exercise.
• Ability to use computer networks and software tools as needed.
• Ability to organize and coordinate work.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
• Ability to engage in self-evaluation for performance and growth.
• Ability to build cooperative working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers Physical Education classes aligned with district goals.
• Teaches physical fitness, rhythm, coordination, exercise, and sports.
• Fosters leadership, teamwork, responsibility and social skills with a safe learning environment.
• Assesses student growth and adjusts instruction for individual needs, including special needs.
• Pursues ongoing professional knowledge through seminars or research.
• Maintains records for grades and attendance per district procedures.
• Coordinates extracurricular activities and athletic events with staff.
• Encourages parental involvement and clear communication with families.
• Ensures student conduct meets school standards and policies.
• Works with PE staff and participates in meetings and committees.
• Selects instructional aids and maintains inventory and equipment safety.
