Job summary

Martinsburg North Middle School, part of Berkeley County Schools in Martinsburg, West Virginia, is seeking a Multi-Categorical Special Education Teacher for grades 6–8 to provide instructional services aligned with IEPs and behavior support plans.

Starting immediately on a 200-day employment term, salary is based on degree level and experience. NBCTs receive a $2,000 stipend in addition to the base salary; a WV license endorsement in Multi-categorical SPED is required, ABA training available.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree and WV licensure with endorsement in Multi-categorical SPED for appropriate grades.
• ABA training is preferred but training is provided if needed.
• Endorsement codes indicate eligible areas for multi-categorical SPED.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and related services per IEPs for grades 6-8.
• Follow procedural safeguards and document progress.
• Support students with varying disabilities toward IEP goals.
• Establish and implement behavior management plans.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Type Description
Berkeley County Schools seeks qualified applicants for a Multi-Categorical Special Education Teacher. The successful applicant will provide instruction and related services as identified on IEPs to students with varying disabilities in grades 6-8; ensure all procedural safeguards are followed; provide appropriate instruction to assist IEP students in reaching goals; establishing and following behavior management plans, and performing other duties and responsiblities as assigned.

Salary Schedule
Berkeley County Schools Teacher Pay Scale based upon degree level and verified years of experience. 200-day employment term.

If a NBCT accepts the position, they will be paid an additional $2000 stipend in addition to their salary, benefits, and NBCT stipend.

Specialized Skills
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree and hold or be eligible for West Virginia licensure with endorsement(s) in Multi-categorical Special Education with appropriate grade levels.

ABA trained is preferred but the successful applicant will be provided ABA training if needed.

Additional Job Information
If a certified candidate is unavailable for this position, then an applicant who is eligible for a first-class permit, alternative certification, Teacher-in-Residence, or a perm sub can be considered.
