Job summary

Davenport Community Schools is seeking five Middle School Mock Trial Coaches to promote and coordinate Mock Trial activities across the district. Each coach will help organize materials, run weekly practices, and guide students through case preparation and trial procedures.

Responsibilities include supervising practices, ensuring accessibility for home languages, and tracking attendance and participation while supporting students’ public speaking and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote Mock Trial through materials and announcements in multiple languages.
• Host weekly 45-minute practice sessions and manage permissions for after-hours participation.
• Mentor students in case materials, procedures, and trial strategies; prepare them for roles.
• Keep attendance records and coordinate guardian pickups as needed.
• Support case theory development, witness examinations, opening/closing statements, and objections.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
