Qualifications

The Job:

SmartStart Education seeks a small group Math Tutor to work with small groups of Middle grade school students on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Each small group consists of 1-4 students. Each group consists of students who have been identified as those who are struggling with fundamental math skills.

The tutor will work with each group several times throughout the week at the school located in Oxford, CT 06478. Tutors should be flexible and comfortable within a school setting. Each tutor will be given the responsibility of taking daily attendance and monitoring student progress using a personal device (mobile phone).

Job Details:

The tutoring position begins promptly on October 22nd, 2026 and ends on May 6th, 2027. The schedule will be 8:00 am through 2:45 pm.

Salary Range:

$30.60/hr - $34.00/hr

• Mastery of Middle school math concepts and skills, substantiating proficiency in the subject matter.

• Display of genuine passion and unwavering commitment towards fostering the success of students.
• Exemplary punctuality, ensuring timely attendance and adherence to established schedules.

• Ability to comfortably commute to the designated location.
• Ability to comfortably navigate a shelter environment, including walking through hallways, shared rooms, and stairways throughout the workday.
