Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Two years of middle school teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement GUGCS curricular programs
• Collaborate with grade team to integrate curriculum across subject areas
• Use Responsive Classroom/Developmental Designs for community-building and behavior management
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners
• Adhere to subject-specific grade-wide pacing calendars
• Maintain organized records of anecdotal notes and assessments
• Administer formal interim assessments and informal ongoing assessments
• Use data collected on assessments to modify unit plans and inform groupings
• Participate in grade team and curricular planning meetings
• Create and maintain an engaging classroom environment and learning access for all students
• Establish positive relationships with families
• Participate in weekly staff meetings and PD opportunities
• Work with an instructional coach toward yearly goals
• Respond productively to professional feedback
• Collaborate with Special Education to support student learning
• Use weekly lesson plans to drive instruction clearly
• Create units using UBD practices
• Lead a daily advisory group
• Commit to diverse populations of families and students, including those at risk
