Job description

The School District of Denmark is seeking a passionate, energetic, and student-centered Middle School Instrumental Music Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. Denmark Middle School is committed to building positive relationships, creating engaging learning experiences, and helping all students grow both academically and personally.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teach middle school instrumental music courses and related music classes as assigned
• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction that meets the needs of diverse learners
• Prepare students for concerts, performances, and school/community events throughout the school year
• Support extracurricular music opportunities such as Jazz Band
• Assist with school traditions and special programs including performances such as Veterans Day and other community events
• Build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment
• Collaborate with colleagues and administration to support student success
• Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and program information
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school activities
• Coordinates and leads Middle School Summer Band programming and student transition opportunities
