Job summary

International Leadership of Texas is seeking an instructional assistant to support teachers in delivering reading, writing, and math instruction. You will work with students individually or in small groups, help prepare instructional materials, and assist with assessments and classroom management.

The role includes supervising students throughout the school day and supporting substitute teachers, with opportunities for staff development and collaboration in a dynamic educational environment.

Qualifications

• Needs ability to assist in reading, writing, and mathematics instruction.
• Experience working with children is preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students under the direction of a certified teacher; work with individuals or small groups.
• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with administration and scoring of objective tests or assignments.
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Supervise students during the day including lunchroom, bus, and playground duties.
• Inform teacher of any special needs or problems of students.
• Participate in staff development and faculty meetings as assigned.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Education/Certification

• 48+ Earned College Credits, Associates degree, Bachelors and/or Masters Degree at a U.S Department of Education recognized accredited institution of higher learning (Preferred)
• OR High School Diploma if formal academic assessment is passed as required by Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)

Special Knowledge/Skills

• Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
• Ability to work well with children
• Ability to communicate effectively
