Job summary

Open Window School, in Bellevue, Washington, seeks a Middle School Innovation & Technology Associate Teacher to support grades 5-8 advanced computer science curriculum in our Innovation & Technology Lab.

The role involves teaching CS, designing interdisciplinary activities, and collaborating with faculty. A passion for CS, design thinking, and project-based learning is essential, with a focus on a student-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree and/or relevant experience.
• Computer science degree or teaching experience preferred.
• Experience working with middle school students, preferably in a classroom setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the teaching of grades 5-8 computer science courses and electives.
• Assist with the organization, maintenance, and inventory of hardware, software, and other materials in the Innovation & Technology Lab.
• Ensure safety of students as they use Innovation & Technology Lab tools.
• Support positive behavior and student responsibility in the classroom.
• Take initiative with the tasks that keep a classroom running smoothly.
• Lead a student club and a student leadership group.
• Chaperone overnight trips and field trips.
• Attend required in service days, meetings, seminars and training sessions.
