Job summary

Fitchburg Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Memori al Middle School Girls Basketball Head Coach to lead, mentor, and develop student-athletes. The role emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and community involvement, with responsibilities for safety, equipment, and program administration.

The Head Coach reports to the Athletic Director and must complete annual district trainings, background checks, and CORI/NCBC as required.

Qualifications

• Must complete employment application, background check, and all district trainings (MIAA, NFHS) annually.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the program including safety and inventory of equipment.
• Communicate with Athletic Director regarding incidents involving student-athletes or parental concerns.
• Promote academics before athletics and monitor student-athlete eligibility.
• Set up and maintain team communication with families and staff.
• Manage registrations, physicals/clearances, and roster records.
• Plan, organize, and direct the entire program and schedule practices, scrimmages, and tryouts.
• Supervise athletes at practices, events, and competitions.
• Attend coaching meetings and evaluate progress of student-athletes.
