Job summary

Norristown Area School District is hiring Emotional Support Paraprofessionals for the 2025-2026 school year at the Middle School level. Responsibilities include instructional support, aiding students with tasks, and implementing behavior plans to help students succeed.

Ideal candidates have an Associate’s Degree or 48 postsecondary credits, experience with children, and strong interpersonal and collaboration skills. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred, and Spanish bilingualism is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or 48 postsecondary credits required.
• Experience working with children strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of community resources and agencies is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate with others in a school setting.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred; bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to students in the middle school.
• Support students with tasks individually or in small groups.
• Implement students' behavior plans and collect data on progress.
• Apply therapeutic aggression control techniques as needed.
• Perform related duties as required.
