Job summary

Everett Public Schools in Everett, MA is seeking a middle school cheerleading coach on a stipend basis beginning August 31, 2026. The role reports to the Principal and Director of Athletics, with duties spanning coaching, safety oversight, and academic eligibility determination.

The position requires prior cheerleading coaching experience, strong communication with families and school staff, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Previous Cheerleading coaching experience is desirable.
• Knowledge of basketball and its rules, and ability to instruct players in all facets of the sport.
• Evidence of ability to get along with pupils, parents, colleagues, and other citizens.
• CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
• Proper communication with principal, athletic director, and parents.
• Responsible for determining the athlete’s academic eligibility.
• Oversees the safety conditions of the facility of area in which the assigned sport is always played when students are present.
• Be present at each practice session and at all contests of the sport coached. This includes supervision, always, of the gym and locker room areas until the area is secured before and after practices and contests and bus trips.
• Enforce discipline and always encourage sportsmanship like behavior. These standards are those set down by the Principal and Athletic Department by EPS.
• Performs all other duties as the principal and or athletic director may deem to be in the best interest of the sport, pupil, and school.
