Job summary

TeachIowa Cedar Valley Catholic Schools is seeking a dedicated Boys Basketball Coach for Blessed Maria Assunta Pallotta Middle School in Waterloo, IA. This part-time role combines coaching, teaching, mentoring and administrative duties to develop student-athletes and promote sportsmanship.

You will collaborate with the head coach, plan practices, manage equipment, and oversee travel while ensuring academic progress and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Active coaching license or able to obtain one by the start of the season.
• Experience coaching at high school, club, or collegiate level.
• Knowledge of track rules, techniques, and strategies.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a coaching team.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
• Knowledge of high school athletic regulations and compliance.
• First aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct practices and training sessions.
• Develop drills to improve players' skills, fitness, and tactics.
• Provide individual and group coaching to enhance performance.
• Assist in game preparation and strategic adjustments.
• Support travel arrangements and athlete safety.
• Monitor academic progress of student-athletes.
• Foster positive team culture and sportsmanship.
• Maintain records and assist fundraising activities.
