Job summary

Highland Community School District is seeking two Middle School Baseball Coaches for the 2026–2027 school year. The roles involve developing student-athletes and promoting a positive baseball program at the middle school level in Riverside, Iowa.

Candidates should have an interest in coaching middle school athletes; playing or coaching experience is preferred, and Iowa coaching licensure requirements must be met before coaching.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in working with middle school student-athletes.
• Previous baseball playing or coaching experience preferred.
• Must meet Iowa coaching authorization/licensure requirements prior to coaching.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, positive, and supportive environment for student-athletes.
• Teach fundamental baseball skills and promote individual and team development.
• Work with the Head Baseball Coach to maintain consistency throughout the Highland baseball program.
• Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, responsibility, and fair play.
• Maintain high expectations for student behavior and academic performance.
• Monitor and support the academic success of student-athletes.
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, coaching staff, and school administration.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, transportation, and other team activities.
• Follow Highland CSD policies, procedures, and expectations for athletic programs.
