Job Description

U.S. Bank Global Corporate Trust Services is one of the largest providers of corporate trust services in the world. Our clients look to us for trustee, agency, escrow, document custody and money market issuing services via our 48 domestic offices and three international offices.

The Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO) and Global Structured Finance (GSF) groups are divisions within U.S. Bank Global Corporate Trust Services and provide services on structured finance vehicles that issue both debt and equity liabilities, the proceeds of which are used to buy a portfolio of collateral such as syndicated bank loans, corporate bonds, ABS, MBS, CMBS and Mezzanine debt. These services include Trust Reporting, which requires review of the deal documents, set up of cashflow priorities, collection of periodic asset activity data, reporting to bondholders, and when required, trust tax reporting.

Essential functions include: Read and interpret trust indentures with regard to reporting requirements. Create technical report specifications from indenture language. Set up payment calculations in a variety of in-house systems. Receive, map and reconcile periodic collateral data. As required, make tax elections, file for EIN’s, and track residual holder transfers. As required, perform portfolio compliance tests on a selection of structured fixed income deals (trade testing). Compile monthly, quarterly and annual payment and/or tax reports. Coordinates with operations teams to ensure correct payments are received and made. Perform quality control review of reports, meeting timeliness and accuracy standards. Frequent interaction with asset managers, investors, auditors and rating agencies.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, accounting or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Two to three years of relevant work experience
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain business‑line tools used by CLO Middle Office reporting analysts to support daily, monthly, and investor reporting processes
  • Build automation and data processing solutions using VBA, Python, and SQL to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and minimize operational risk
  • Partner with Middle Office analysts to understand reporting workflows, data sources, and pain points, and translate them into technical solutions
  • Debug, enhance, and refactor existing VBA, SQL, and Python code used in production reporting tools
  • Develop SQL queries and data extracts to support reconciliations, compliance reporting, and analytics
  • Create well‑documented, user‑friendly tools that can be maintained and supported by the broader team
  • Assist with testing, validation, and quality control of newly developed or enhanced tools
  • Support ongoing process improvement initiatives across CLO Middle Office operations
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for troubleshooting issues related to internally developed tools
Required Qualifications
  • Strong hands‑on experience with VBA, SQL, and at least one modern scripting language such as Python
  • Demonstrated ability to build tools from scratch, not just maintain existing solutions
  • Proven experience debugging and resolving complex technical issues across VBA, SQL, and Python
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver solutions in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical users
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in financial services, asset management, or capital markets
  • Familiarity with CLOs, structured finance, or loan products
  • Experience supporting reporting, reconciliations, or middle‑office operations
  • Exposure to databases and reporting platforms commonly used in financial environments
  • Experience improving or replacing Excel‑based EUCs with more scalable solutions
What Success Looks Like In This Role
  • Middle Office analysts rely on your tools to perform reporting and reconciliations more efficiently and with fewer errors
  • Manual processes are automated or simplified through well‑designed technical solutions
  • Existing tools are more stable, easier to maintain, and better documented
  • Technical issues are identified, debugged, and resolved quickly with minimal disruption to daily reporting
