Job summary

Hanover-Horton Middle/High School seeks a Dean of Students/Athletic Director to lead student discipline, PBIS implementation, and athletic programs. The role requires strong leadership, budgeting, and collaboration with a highly involved administrative team.

The successful candidate will manage coaching staff, coordinate competitions, and work a flexible schedule including some nights and weekends to support activities and events at the district's middle/high school campus.

Qualifications

• Meet State of Michigan requirements for teacher certification preferred
• Master’s Degree preferred
• Minimum five (5) years satisfactory teaching experience, secondary level preferred
• Knowledge and practice of PBIS systems preferred
• Experience with student discipline
• Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills
• Committee participation
• Participation in or conducting staff development activities
• Knowledge/experience in coaching evaluations
• Be able to work in a highly collaborative administrative team environment
• Extensive coaching experience at the varsity level preferred
• Exceptional interpersonal skills to build successful working relationships
• Ability to create vision and establish framework for program coach accountability and integrity
• Demonstrated ability to provide leadership that results in teamwork and collaborative working relationships
• Successful experience in budget management
• Ability and desire to work effectively with students, staff, and community
• Ability to set up and tear down facilities
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on schedule demands and willingness to work nights and some weekends
• Ability to recruit and organize necessary personnel to effectively manage competitions
• Strong organizational skills
• Proficient in computer use
• Other duties as assigned by administration

Responsibilities

• Lead the Dean of Students and Athletic Director responsibilities for Hanover-Horton Middle/High School.
• Support PBIS implementation and student discipline processes district-wide.
• Collaborate with administrators, staff, students, and families for program success.
• Coordinate coaching staff, events, and facilities for athletic programs.
• Oversee budget management and resource allocation for activities and programs.
• Recruit and organize personnel to manage competitions and events.
• Tend to schedule nights and weekends as needed to support activities and events.
