Job summary

MGAC is seeking a Data Center Construction—Mid to Senior Project Manager to lead critical environment projects in Ashburn, VA. The role requires onsite presence most days and ownership of project scope, budget, and schedule.

You will guide owners representatives through design and construction, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and drive successful project outcomes for data centers and related facilities.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in construction project management with understanding of design and build processes.
  • 2+ years of construction cost management experience.
  • 2+ years managing critical environment construction projects (data centers, labs, hospitals).
  • MEP experience in ground-up construction.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, presentation, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage full project scope while coordinating components of multiple projects.
  • Mentor and lead teams, manage schedule, scope and budget.
  • Lead risk management, contingency planning, and schedule/budget recovery.
  • Ensure alignment with client vision and act as trusted partner.
  • Manage invoicing, collections, and identify add-services opportunities.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with clients, A&E professionals, contractors, vendors, and teams.

This position requires local support, with approximately 4-5 days per week onsite in Ashburn, VA, subject to client needs.

  • 3+ years of experience in construction project management with a thorough understanding of the building design and construction process.
  • Bachelors, Associates, or equivalent experience in a construction-related discipline.
  • 2+ years of construction cost management experience.
  • 2+ years of experience managing critical environment construction projects (e.g., data centers, labs, hospitals).
  • MEP experience in ground-up construction.

What Youll Be Doing

MGACs Critical Environments team manages the construction of data centers and hospitals with deep industry expertise. We act as owners representativesresolving issues, managing conflicts, and guiding informed decisions to keep projects on track. As a Project Manager at MGAC, you will lead incredible, resume-building, high-visibility projects.

Project Leadership
  • Independently manage the full scope of projects while simultaneously managing components of others.
  • Mentor and lead teams while managing schedule, scope, and budget.
  • Lead project risk management, contingency planning, and schedule and budget recovery planning.
  • Achieve and maintain the clients vision as a trusted partner.
Financial and Contract Management
  • Ensure timely invoicing and collection.
  • Identify and secure add-services opportunities.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with clients, A&E professionals, contractors/GCs, vendors, and other teams.
  • Anticipate project and team risks; solve complex challenges and conflicts.
  • Conduct requirements gathering and needs assessments.

Salary Range

$110,000 - $140,000 per year (commensurate with experience)

The advertised salary range is intended as a general guideline and may vary based on factors such as experience, expertise, and location. This base salary does not reflect the full compensation package, which may include bonuses, a 401(k) match, and other benefits.
