Job summary

MGAC is seeking a Mid to Senior Construction Project Manager to lead critical environments projects in Detroit and beyond. The role emphasizes managing data centers and hospital facilities, acting as owner’s representative, and delivering high-visibility work with a strong client focus.

You will guide project teams, drive schedules, budgets, risk planning, and ensure alignment with the client’s vision while fostering collaboration across A&E professionals, contractors, and vendors.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in construction project management with understanding of building design/construction processes.
  • 2+ years of experience managing critical environment construction projects (data centers, labs, hospitals).
  • 2+ years of datacenter construction experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage full scope of projects and components of others.
  • Mentor and lead teams; manage schedule, scope, and budget.
  • Lead project risk management, contingency planning, and schedule/budget recovery.
  • Maintain trusted client relationships and ensure the client vision is achieved.

Position Title: Mid to Senior Construction Project Manager

This position requires local support in Detroit, MI with onsite support required 4-5 days a week, subject to client needs.

  • 4+ years of experience in construction project management with a thorough understanding of the building design and construction process.
  • Bachelors, Associates, or equivalent experience in a construction-related discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience managing critical environment construction projects (e.g., data centers, labs, hospitals).
  • 2+ years of datacenter construction experience required.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, presentation, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

What Youll Be Doing

MGACs Critical Environments team manages the construction of data centers and hospitals with deep industry expertise. We act as owners representativesresolving issues, managing conflicts, and guiding informed decisions to keep projects on track. As a Project Manager at MGAC, you will lead incredible, resume-building, high-visibility projects.

Project Leadership
  • Independently manage the full scope of projects while simultaneously managing components of others.
  • Mentor and lead teams while managing schedule, scope, and budget.
  • Lead project risk management, contingency planning, and schedule and budget recovery planning.
  • Achieve and maintain the clients vision as a trusted partner.
Financial and Contract Management
  • Ensure timely invoicing and collection.
  • Identify and secure add-services opportunities.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with clients, A&E professionals, contractors/GCs, vendors, and other teams.
  • Anticipate project and team risks; solve complex challenges and conflicts.
  • Conduct requirements gathering and needs assessments.

Salary Range

$120,000 - $160,000 per year (commensurate with experience)

The advertised salary range is intended as a general guideline and may vary based on factors such as experience, expertise, and location. This base salary does not reflect the full compensation package, which may include bonuses, a 401(k) match, and other benefits.
