KBR's National Security Solutions team seeks a Mid Software Engineer to support the Air Force Research Laboratory in Colorado Springs, CO, with onsite work and Ohio opportunities. You will work on high-end engineering and data-processing software for national security missions.

Responsibilities include design, development, testing, reviews, and documentation across cross-functional teams, with emphasis on performance and reliability in mission-critical systems.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience across the full software development lifecycle.
• 2+ years hands-on with Java, Python, or another OO language.
• Experience building data processing/integration solutions.
• Experience with version control and modern software engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software for high-velocity data stream processing systems.
• Implement features and enhancements from requirements through delivery.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code with emphasis on performance and reliability.
• Develop and execute unit and integration tests to ensure software quality.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to coding standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues across development and production environments.
• Create prototypes and contribute to software architecture discussions.
• Generate and maintain technical documentation and project artifacts.
