Job summary

Idea Financial is seeking a Mid/Senior QA Engineer to ensure the quality of our web and mobile applications. You will design, write and execute test cases, perform functional, regression, integration and exploratory testing, and work with developers and product managers to catch issues early in every release.

You will maintain test documentation and participate in sprint ceremonies, while helping to grow automation using Selenium, Cypress, and Playwright.

We're looking for a Mid/Senior Level QA Engineer to join our team and help ensure the quality and reliability of our products through thorough testing and process improvement. You'll work closely with developers and product managers to catch issues early and build confidence in every release.

About Idea Financial

Idea Financial provides lines of credit and term loans to small businesses, sold directly and through a broker network. Everything after the application runs on RYNO, our in-house lending and servicing platform. RYNO covers the full loan lifecycle: applications and offers, draws and approvals, payment schedules, nightly loan maintenance, renewals, and the daily ACH files that move money. Underwriting, servicing, finance and collections use its Backoffice every day. Merchants use the customer portal and mobile app, and brokers use the broker portal and API.

Responsibilities

• Design, write, and execute manual and automated test cases for web and mobile applications.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing across features and releases.
• Identify, document, and track bugs using tools like Jira, working with engineers to verify fixes.
• Review requirements and user stories to spot edge cases and gaps before development begins.
• Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives as part of an agile team.
• Help build and maintain automated test scripts (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) as skills develop.
• Support API testing using tools like Postman.
• Maintain clear, organized test documentation and test plans.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in software QA or a related field (new grads with strong internship experience considered for junior level).
• Solid understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC.
• Experience writing clear bug reports and test cases.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and issue tracking tools (Jira).
• Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication.

Nice to have

• Exposure to test automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
• Experience with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
