Job summary

Futures Consulting, LLC in Chicago, IL is seeking a Mid to Senior Electrical Engineer to join our collaborative MEP team. You will own design of electrical systems for commercial projects, develop construction documents, and coordinate with architectural and engineering disciplines.

This role offers growth toward project management and leadership as you mentor junior staff and lead project delivery through all phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years of electrical design experience in an MEP consulting environment.
• PE license preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and applicable building codes.
• Excellent communication and client-relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for commercial, healthcare, municipal, industrial, retail, and institutional facilities.
• Prepare construction documents, technical specifications, calculations, and engineering reports.
• Design power distribution, lighting, emergency power, and fire alarm systems.
• Coordinate designs with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural teams.
• Participate in client meetings and collaborate throughout all phases of project delivery.
• Support construction administration activities, including reviewing RFIs, submittals, and conducting occasional site visits.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance (for senior-level candidates).
