Responsibilities

• Architecting the deployment of Windows and Linux environments in AWS, Azure and VMware (including VMware Cloud)
• Design Operating systems (Red Hat Linux and Windows) deployments and automation
• Work as part of a small architecture group within Infrastructure to review existing design and operation methodologies and take them and evolve them into a modern and sustainable architecture with full automation
• Cross train other Infrastructure and Cloud teams on the new architecture and automation to hand off the daily operations of the infrastructure and tooling
• Integrate to our automation team to work the automation projects that are identified with their agile methodologies
• Work to assess the daily operations of the infrastructure teams and look for opportunities to automate repetitive processes
• Work on automating the daily operations including maintenance, provisioning, decommissioning etc.
• Work on maintaining an Infrastructure CMDB in our ServiceNow system

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of troubleshooting methodologies
• Strong automation skills, preferably with SaltStack and related technologies (Python, Terraform etc.)
• In-depth knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
• Experience provisioning environments in both public and private clouds – AWS, Azure, and VMware (Including VMware Cloud in AWS)
• Strong understanding of Windows domain services (including Active Directory, DNS etc.) and LDAP technologies as well as other IAM best practices
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture processes and designs
• Strong understanding of ITILv3 processes
