Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. is seeking a seasoned security professional to administer physical security and safeguard personnel and assets at our Kansas facility. The role requires responding to alarms, managing access, and coordinating with law enforcement.

Applicants should have at least five years in security or related fields and be capable of working varied shifts. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance are preferred.

Qualifications

• A minimum of five years of professional experience in a related field (Law Enforcement, Security, Military)
• An equivalent combination of relevant experience and education may be considered
• Must be able and willing to work any shift as well as other irregular hours, weekends, holidays, evenings, etc.

Responsibilities

• Administer and provide physical security services to safeguard people, property, and information within company and government requirements
• Manage access control, patrolling, emergency communication and response, and traffic and parking enforcement
• Assist in the investigations of reported incidents
• Respond to alarms and emergencies and direct evacuations as needed
• Deescalate/resolve conflicts and document incidents with high level of detail
• Issue security citations
• Identify and report potentially hazardous situations
• Provide protection for VIPs as needed
• Provide support for special events and functions
• Ensure compliance with company’s written policies and procedures
• Interface with government agencies, local and federal law enforcement, and with site Security and Fire management, company management and employees, customers, vendors, and suppliers to ensure understanding of and compliance with company rules and regulations.

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades.
