Job summary

Intuitive Machines, LLC is seeking a Mid to Senior Level Stress Analyst to join our Lunar Lander team in Houston, TX. The candidate will perform structural analyses on carbon fiber panels, metallic structures, and assemblies, and will own stress analyses across parts and subsystems.

The role requires a strong background in FE analysis, familiarity with SolidWorks, and experience in a cross-functional environment under tight schedules. On-site presence in Houston is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related discipline with 7+ years (MS) / 10+ years (BS) in mechanical design or related fields.
• Experience with stress analysis and structural components in aerospace contexts.
• Proficient with FE analysis tools and scripting for analyses.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis of carbon fiber panels and joints, and metallic secondary structure.
• Own the stress analysis for various parts and assemblies.
• Present analysis results and recommended solutions clearly.

About the Position:

Intuitive Machines is seeking a Senior Level Stress Analyst to join our team. This position will support our growing Lunar Lander Team. The applicant will be located on-site in Houston, TX. The candidate will work in a cross-functional team on the analysis, development, manufacture, test, and on-orbit operation of flight, and ground support hardware, such as Lunar Lander Structure and secondary systems.

Responsibilities:

• Perform the analysis of Carbon Fiber Structural panels and joints, and metallic secondary structure
• Own the stress analysis for a variety of parts and assemblies.
• Perform analyses and effectively present solutions.

Requirements:

• B.S degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline and minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering design or related discipline; or M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and a minimum of 7 years of experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite
• Proficient in Finite Element Analysis
• Skilled in the use of FEMAP/NASTRAN including advanced analysis techniques and writing API scripts
• Proficient in closed form analysis methodology for bolted joints and initial sizing of structural components
• Familiarity with component design using 3D CAD software, preferably Solidworks, for basic design trades in support of multiple design engineers
• Experienced with the analysis of carbon fiber parts and assemblies, carbon fiber tubes and sandwich panels
