Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Mid-level SQL Database / Systems Administrator for Federal Strategic Cyber programs in Washington DC. This hybrid role combines DBA responsibilities with system administration to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure databases and platforms.

You will administer SQL Server databases, optimize performance, implement backup and HA strategies, and collaborate across teams. U.S. citizenship and a current Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 9 years total in CS/IS or related field.
• SQL Server DB and systems administration experience.
• Strong proficiency in T-SQL, query optimization, and database design.
• Solid Windows Server administration experience.
• Proficiency in PowerShell or other scripting languages.
• Familiarity with backup tools, monitoring, and disaster recovery planning.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Current Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and ability to obtain a polygraph.

• Need to have strong expertise in SQL Server administration, performance tuning, and backup strategies.
• Have experience with Apache NiFi for data flow automation and integration.
• This hybrid role combines core DBA responsibilities with system administration tasks, requiring a solid understanding of both data and systems to ensure reliability, scalability, and security across our platforms.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • An additional 4 years of experience will be considered in lieu of the bachelor's degree.
• SQL Server database and systems administration experience.
• Strong proficiency in T-SQL, query optimization, and database design.
• Solid understanding of Windows Server administration.
• Proficiency in PowerShell or other scripting languages.
• Familiarity with backup tools, monitoring systems, and disaster recovery planning.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Demonstrated excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• A current Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain a polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, or SSAS.
• Experience using NiFi for ETL workflows.
• Familiarity with Linux environments.
• Exposure to DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
