This position requires knowledge of the Microsoft Azure cloud ecosystem, along with experience designing and developing applications using React, Node.js, and MySQL.

The Solutions Architect will work closely with software developers, technical leads, project managers, cybersecurity personnel, and customers to define solution architectures, evaluate technologies, resolve technical challenges, and support solutions throughout the development lifecycle.

Candidates should also be comfortable working with modern AI‑assisted development tools, generative AI technologies, APIs, and large language models (LLMs) and understand how AI can be responsibly incorporated into software development and enterprise solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Design and document scalable, secure, and maintainable application and cloud architectures.
  • Translate customer, business, and technical requirements into practical solution designs.
  • Design and support cloud-native and hybrid solutions within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
  • Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to application development teams.
  • Participate directly in application development, prototyping, troubleshooting, and technical problem‑solving when required.
  • Design solutions incorporating:
  • React front‑end applications
  • Node.js back‑end services and APIs
  • MySQL relational databases
  • Azure cloud services and infrastructure
  • Design and integrate RESTful APIs, third‑party services, enterprise systems, and data sources.
  • Develop and review system architecture diagrams, data flows, API designs, infrastructure designs, and technical documentation.
  • Evaluate technical approaches and recommend appropriate technologies, frameworks, platforms, and development patterns.
  • Support Azure infrastructure design, configuration, deployment, monitoring, security, and optimization.
  • Work with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, source control, and environment management.
  • Apply security best practices throughout solution design and software development.
  • Support solutions operating within government security, compliance, and information assurance environments.
  • Participate in customer technical discussions, demonstrations, design reviews, and architecture reviews.
  • Identify technical risks, dependencies, integration challenges, and potential performance issues early in the development lifecycle.
  • Mentor developers and provide technical guidance on architecture, coding practices, cloud technologies, and solution design.
  • Research emerging technologies and recommend opportunities to improve existing products and solutions.
Artificial Intelligence & Emerging Technologies

The Solutions Architect should maintain current knowledge of rapidly evolving AI technologies and development practices.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting the integration of LLMs, AI APIs, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), AI agents, and related technologies into software solutions where appropriate.
  • Understanding the differences between cloud‑hosted and locally deployed AI models.
  • Evaluating AI solutions based on security, privacy, performance, cost, scalability, and customer requirements.
  • Applying responsible AI practices and ensuring sensitive, proprietary, government, or customer information is appropriately protected when using AI technologies.
  • Staying current with emerging AI development frameworks, tools, models, and industry best practices.
