Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks a Mid-Level to Senior Electrical Engineer in Bothell, WA to lead electrical design for power and renewable projects. Hybrid work is possible, with preference for local candidates. You will support scope, cost estimates, and scheduling while ensuring NEC/ANSI/IEEE compliance and effective client engagement.

You will size and specify equipment, develop wiring and diagrams, and assist field construction and testing. PE or NCEES status is valued.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited university.
• 10–20 years for senior level or 6–9 years for mid-level.
• Licensed US PE or NCEES record preferred.
• Experience with power, industrial, and HV substations (AIS/GIS).

Responsibilities

### **Job Description**## **Overview** We are seeking a **Mid-Level /Senior Electrical Engineer** to join our team in **Bothell, WA** to lead and work on various Power & Renewable and Electrical Engineering projects. The work schedule could be a hybrid opportunity, but the preference will be given to local candidates. This may be based in one of our Office locations throughout the US depending on applicants’ location. The Electrical Engineer reports to our Chief Electrical Engineer and is responsible for possessing a deep and broad base of knowledge of Engineering Design in Power and Industrial Projects within the US. ## **Your role** * Providing electrical engineering design on power and industrial projects.* Providing support on project scope and estimating.* Providing input to project cost and schedule.* Controlling and monitoring design budget.* Performing electrical system studies and calculations such as load flow and short circuit analysis, relay coordination and programming, arc flash analysis, grounding, and lightning protection system calculations.* Preparing engineering reports, tender and construction drawings, and documents.* Preparing equipment specification and selection and performing technical bid evaluation and making recommendations.* Preparing power distribution layouts, grounding and lightning protection system design and layouts.* Developing wiring diagrams, single line and three line diagrams and schematic diagrams.* Sizing and specifying electrical equipment.* Developing high voltage substation physical and protection and control system design.* Assisting with field construction, commissioning, and vendor factory acceptance tests.* Ability to effectively interact with other disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.* Strong knowledge of NEC, ANSI and IEEE standards and recommended practices. ## **About you** * Electrical Engineer Degree from a recognized university.* 10-20 years of experience for senior positions.* 6-9 years of experience for mid-level positions.* Have solid engineering design background in power, industrial and high voltage substations (AIS and GIS).* Strong knowledge in applicable codes and standards (NEC, ANSI/ IEEE).* Have leadership skills to lead projects and engineering design team.* Excellent communication skills with a focus on client management.* Valid P.E. in the US or have NCEES record.* Experienced in equipment sizing, specification, and selection (transformers, generators, motors, HV substation equipment AIS and GIS physical layout, elevation, conductor and bus bar sizing/selection, and material selection).* Experienced in developing one-line diagrams, 3-line diagrams, schematic diagrams.* Experienced in power system studies (load flow, short circuity, arc flash, relay coordination, grounding/lightning protection system,).* Familiar with power system analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, Easy Power, CDEGS. ## **Rewards & benefits** At AtkinsRéalis, our values—Safety, Integrity, Collaboration, Innovation, and Excellence—are more than just words.
