Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. is seeking a Senior Quality professional to represent Spirit as a customer quality representative (CQS) and coordinate non-conformances with customers.

You will collaborate with engineering and management on significant structural repairs, review sensitive non-conformances, and lead root-cause analysis to prevent reoccurrence. Role requires experience with engineering drawings, MS Office, and quality systems knowledge.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in quality discipline, preferably inspection, aerospace or manufacturing.
  • Experience with engineering drawings and customer specifications.
  • MS Office experience (PowerPoint & Excel).

Responsibilities

  • Represent Spirit as a customer quality representative (CQS) and coordinate non-conformances with customers.
  • Collaborate with management on aircraft structure repairs identified by Engineering as significant (SRL).
  • Review non-conformances that may be sensitive (CSI) to customer and end user.
  • Attend, interface and present data during customer meetings.
  • Develop and administer long-range customer inspection plans in line with quality policies and regulations.
  • Plan and coordinate manufacturing improvements (hardware, tooling, suppliers, assembly).
  • Perform design reviews to ensure quality is engineered into products and tools.
  • Analyze contract requirements, drawings, and specifications to apply quality disciplines.
  • Perform configuration audits and reviews of products, tools, and processes.
  • Compile and analyze process capability data and risk assessments.
  • Lead root-cause analyses to plan process improvements.
  • Ensure sequencing of inspection points and maintain accountability systems.
  • Identify and implement preventative measures and corrective actions.
  • Provide education and coaching on QMS and Manufacturing Verification Process.

Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units(\u201CSpirit Commercial\u201D). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

  • Represent Spirit as a customer quality representative (CQS). Coordinate non-conformances with the customer and provide visibility. Collaborate with all levels of management on aircraft structure repairs identified by Engineering as significant (SRL).
  • Review all non-conformances that may be sensitive (CSI) to the customer and end user.
  • Ability to attend, interface and present data during customer meetings.
  • Apply knowledge of quality policies and governmental regulations to develop andadminister long-range customer inspection plans, acting as agent/designee for customer, to meet contractual and other requirements.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate improvements in manufacturing (e.g., hardware and tool acceptance, variability reduction, developing key suppliers, and assembly operations, etc.).
  • Ability to perform design reviews to ensure that quality is engineered into the product and tool.
  • Apply knowledge of engineering (e.g., manufacturing, tooling, quality, and statistics, etc.) to analyze requirements of contracts, drawings, and specifications to develop plans for the application of quality disciplines to processes.
  • Ability to perform configuration audits and reviews of products, tools, and processes.
  • Ability to compile, measure and analyze process capability data, models to perform trend analyses and risk assessments.
  • Skill in process improvement methodologies (i.e., root cause analysis) to plan and coordinate process improvements.
  • Ability to ensure sequenced inspection control points, create and maintain inspection accountability systems.
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, and implement preventative measures, corrective action, procedural changes, process improvements and present resultant findings.
  • Provide education and coaching on the Quality Management System and Manufacturing Verification Process.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in a quality discipline, preferably in inspection, aerospace, or manufacturing
  • Working with engineering drawings and customer specification
  • MS Office (power point & excel) experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail
  • Quality inspection helpful but not required
  • Leadership experience helpful
  • Experienced desired with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems)
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and team-based environment
  • Ability to prioritize requests from multiple sources and support requirements
  • Self-motivated; taking ownership of projects and issues, including follow through to closure and resolution
  • Great attitude and willingness to learn

Summary Pay Range - Mid-Level (Level 3): $73,400 - $112,550
