Job summary

NBBJ Seattle is seeking an Intermediate Architectural Designer - Healthcare Practice to join a highly collaborative, design-driven studio. You will support design leadership, mentor teams, and advance the firm’s reputation through project work and client interactions.

The role emphasizes conceptual and schematic design, strong communication, and proficiency with Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, and the Adobe suite, with flexibility for travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in architectural design.
• Healthcare project experience required.
• Architect licensure a plus.
• LEED accreditation or near-term goals encouraged.
• Strong verbal and graphic communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and exemplify quality standards through design reviews and mentoring.
• Lead radical thinking and creativity to drive impactful design.
• Provide hands-on design work for 1-2 projects from concept to construction.
• Review projects via firm-wide peer reviews.
• Craft and present design stories to clients and peers.
• Collaborate with design peers firm-wide to enhance quality.
• Ensure projects use the latest design/visualization methods and technologies.
• Champion proper process design alongside PMs and PAs.
• Develop expertise in a single typology while applying sound design methods.
• Collaborate with multiple disciplines for integrated delivery.
